Forvis Mazars appoints Santiago Casadejús as President in Spain
Forvis Mazars, a global firm specializing in audit, tax, legal, consulting, and advisory services, has announced the appointment of Santiago Casadejús (pictured centre) as the new President of its operations in Spain. Casadejús will lead the firm for the next four years, succeeding Antoni Bover, who steps down after over two decades at the helm. Bover will remain connected to the organization through various projects.
Joining Casadejús on the Spanish Management Committee are Gastón Durand (pictured left), Partner and Head of Legal, and Juan Luque (pictured right), Partner in Audit & Assurance. Together, they will oversee a team of over 50 partners and 850 professionals operating across the firm’s offices in Barcelona, Madrid, Bilbao, Alicante, Valencia, Vigo, Málaga, and Oviedo.
Santiago Casadejús began his journey with Forvis Mazars in 1988, becoming a partner in 2000 and serving on the Management Committee since 2002. With a distinguished career advising multinational clients on tax matters, Casadejús brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Barcelona, a Postgraduate Degree in Taxation from ESADE, and is a member of Spain’s Official Register of Auditors (ROAC).
Strengthened Leadership Team
Gastón Durand, the new Head of Legal, has over 20 years of experience in procedural law, arbitration, and business law, spanning civil, commercial, and criminal domains. He joined the firm as a partner in 2002 and holds a Law degree from CEU, affiliated with the University of Alcalá de Henares. Durand also holds diplomas in Labor Law and Social Security from the Financial Studies Center and is a member of the Madrid Bar Association.
Juan Luque, Partner in Audit & Assurance, specializes in the industrial and services sectors, boasting over three decades of experience auditing international and Spanish multinational groups. Luque is also a co-founder of the firm’s Sustainability practice in Spain. He holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the Central University of Barcelona, a PDD from IESE, is a certified Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) professional, and a registered auditor with ROAC.
Global Governance Evolution
This leadership announcement in Spain coincides with significant changes at Forvis Mazars globally. Hervé Hélias and Pascal Jauffret were recently appointed as Global Chairman and CEO, respectively, as part of the firm’s governance evolution. Additionally, María Cabodevilla, a partner at Forvis Mazars in Spain, has been named to the Forvis Mazars Group’s Governance Council, one of two newly established global governing bodies.
