Flix appoints Filippo Monopoli as head of legal EU West
Flix has appointed Filippo Monopoli as head of legal EU West, overseeing the company’s legal affairs across Italy, France, Spain and Portugal. In the role, he leads the regional legal team and advises the business on legal, regulatory and compliance matters.
His responsibilities include commercial agreements, litigation and regulatory proceedings, as well as legal matters involving artificial intelligence, technology and data. He also oversees antitrust, consumer protection and data protection matters, aligning the region’s legal strategy with the group’s headquarters. In Italy, he is also an internal member of FlixBus Italia’s supervisory body under Legislative Decree 231/2001.
The appointment took effect in March 2026 and was recently announced by Monopoli on LinkedIn. It marks the latest step in a career spanning more than a decade at Flix, where he joined in March 2015 as Junior Legal & Regulatory Affairs Manager, working between Munich and Milan.
The profile
He subsequently took on broader responsibilities in legal and regulatory affairs, becoming senior expert legal counsel in January 2019. From April 2023, his remit covered Italy, Spain and Portugal, before he was appointed Senior Expert Legal Counsel Europe South & Nordics in January 2025. He held that position until his latest promotion.
Before joining Flix, Monopoli trained at Studio Legale Rustichelli in the Modena area.
