First edition of the Moot Court on tax law
The school of legal practice of the Complutense University of Madrid hosted the final of the first edition of the Moot Court on tax law. This is a university trial simulation competition aimed at undergraduate and postgraduate students from spanish universities, with more than 14 teams registered.
In this first edition, the team from the Complutense University of Madrid won first prize, followed by the team from the University of the Balearic Islands as finalist. In addition, the team from the University of Alicante was awarded the prize for the best written statement of claim and the Carlos III University of Madrid received the prize for the best written reply. Also, Eduardo Herráiz del Caz, a law student at the Complutense University of Madrid, was awarded the prize for best lawyer in the competition.
The competition was organised by the Universidad Autónoma, the Universidad Complutense and the Universidad Carlos III, three institutions from Madrid with extensive teaching and research experience in the field of tax law.
In addition, several law firms and other collaborating entities, such as Cuatrecasas, Pérez-Llorca, Uría Menéndez and the Spanish Association of Tax Advisors (AEDAF), have also participated in the organisation and promotion of the competition.
