Fieldfisher JAUSAS adds M&A partner from RSM Spain

Fieldfisher Jausas has hired Ana Úbeda as a partner to reinforce its Commercial and M&A department in the Barcelona office

With over 25 years of professional experience, Ana Úbeda (pictured) comes to Fieldfisher JAUSAS from RSM Tax & Legal and, having previously developed a large part of her career at Garrigues.

Ana Úbeda is an expert in M&A operations and investment processes in both investment and business funds on a national as well as an international level. Likewise, she advises companies on all types of corporate matters and international groups on their implementation process in Spain, the creation of Joint Ventures for the development of business projects, and negotiating and closing business collaboration agreements.

Furthermore, she has also developed extensive experience in the field of franchising, agency and distribution, advising companies on their business expansion processes and the resolution of conflicts in an extrajudicial manner. She is currently Treasurer of the Board of Directors at the Association of Franchises of Catalonia and a member of the Committee of Legal Experts at the Spanish Association of Franchisers. Úbeda combines her professional career with teaching as an associate professor at Universidad Pompeu Fabra.

On this new phase at Fieldfisher JAUSAS, Úbeda said: “My objective is to contribute to the growth of the firm’s Corporate and M&A practice by providing my professional and team management experience, as well as my effort and dedication.” In this sense, and from a market point of view, Úbeda assured that: “We face the same great challenge that all legal services firms face, but there are great opportunities in the M&A field in many sectors, from the renewable energy sector to the hotel and restaurant sector, and even the real estate market.”

Chairman and partner of Fieldfisher JAUSAS, Jordi Ruiz de Villa, pointed out that: “The incorporation of Ana Úbeda, along with Paloma Mato – last April – and under the direction of Rodrigo Martos, makes the M&A department the first to reach the number of three partners. This growth demonstrates our strong commitment to a sector of activity in which we expect significant development in the short term.” Besides, Ruiz de Villa added: “The firm – loyal to its growth plan – is focused on the search for two partners in the Tax and Litigation area in the Barcelona office, but does not rule out continuing to reinforce that office in other areas in which Fieldfisher is very strong at the international level.”
