EY Abogados advises José Elías on Namencis acquisition
Spanish entrepreneur José Elías has made his first move into the education sector with the acquisition of 100% of Namencis Education, a Spanish online business education group. He is joined in the investment by Yaiza Canosa, founder of the logistics startup, and Belén de Jaime, co-founder of Flipeat. The deal marks a shift for Elías, who until now has focused mainly on the telecom and food industries.
Namencis Education, led by CEO Santiago Navarro-Rubio, has trained over 200,000 students across 125 countries in just four years. The group operates four online business schools — ENEB, ISEB, ESIE, and IEAD — which will continue under Navarro-Rubio’s leadership, who also remains a shareholder. The acquisition was completed for an estimated €23 million.
The arrival of the new investors aims to accelerate the company’s growth and international expansion, with plans to reach €5 million in revenue this year and a target of €20 million within the next five years.
The legal due diligence was carried out by EY Abogados, with a team led by partner Susana Gómez Badiola, supported by manager Javier Merlos Palma and senior associate Manuel Herrero Rodríguez.
