Eversheds Sutherland adds Juan Alonso Berberena as counsel
Eversheds Sutherland has announced the appointment of Juan Alonso Berberena as counsel in its Labor Practice in Spain, effective 1 January 2025. Berberena joins the international law firm alongside attorney Gonzalo Sotomayor, both transitioning from Dentons, where Berberena served as head of the Labor Practice.

He also brings significant expertise in judicial and extrajudicial proceedings and collective negotiations.
A graduate in Law from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and holder of a master’s degree in European and Comparative Law, Berberena began his legal career at Baker McKenzie and Ashurst before joining Dentons in 2010.
Under the leadership of Jacobo Martínez, managing partner of Eversheds Sutherland Spain, the Labor department now comprises 15 professionals. Martínez emphasized the strategic importance of this appointment, noting, “Juan’s extensive knowledge and experience are a tremendous asset to our Labor team. His arrival reinforces one of the firm’s key practice areas, both globally and in Spain.”
