Eversheds boosts its Public Law area

Eversheds Sutherland has hired professor José Carlos Laguna de Paz as academic advisor to strengthen its Public Law department

Eversheds Sutherland has incorporated Universidad de Valladolid Administrative Law professor José Carlos Laguna de Paz to the Public Law department as new academic advisor of the firm’s Spanish office. With his incorporation, the firm strengthens a growing practice in Spain, co-led by partners Alberto Dorrego de Carlos and Andrés Jiménez Díaz.

Throughout his professional career, José Carlos Laguna de Paz has been a consultant and has issued numerous Legal opinions for Spanish and American public and private entities. He has carried out research stays at the Universities of Heidelberg, Munich, Marburg, Trier, LSE, Harvard, Georgetown and Oxford and has been a visiting professor and lecturer at numerous European and American universities.

A regular speaker at national and international scientific conferences, he is also the author of eight books and more than one hundred and thirty publications in Spanish, English, German, Italian, Argentinean, Peruvian and Chilean journals. He has been in charge of drafting preliminary bills on industry (Castilla y León, 2012), housing (Castilla y León, 2008-2009), competition (Peru), local police (Castilla y León, 2002) and local government (Castilla y León, 1992). He is a member of various scientific associations such as the Spanish Association of Professors of Administrative Law (AEPDA), Societas Iuris Publici Europaei e.V. (SIPE), Red Académica de Derecho de la Competencia (RADC)] and university institutes (Instituto de Estudios Europeos).
