Eugenio Ribón becomes new ICAM’s dean
Eugenio Ribón has become the new dean of ICAM, meaning that he will be the highest representative of the Madrid legal profession.
The new dean gave a speech in which the defence of the dignity of the legal profession, its right to conciliation and the social commitment of the institution with the protection of the State were the main themes.
The event took place in the University’s auditorium, which was attended by high-ranking representatives of the institutions and legal and judicial world. Among them were the managing partners of Uría Menéndez, Pérez-Llorca, Allen & Overy, Linklaters and Ceca Magán, among others.
Also in attendance were senior institutional representatives and representatives of the different levels of the Administration of Justice, as well as associations from the sector and civil society, together with prominent members of the institutional legal profession. Among others, the Minister of Justice of the Community of Madrid, Enrique López; the Mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida; the President of the General Council of the Spanish Bar, Victoria Ortega; the President of the Assembly of Madrid, Mª Eugenia Carballedo; the Government Delegate in Madrid, Mercedes González; the president of the TSJM, Celso Rodríguez Padrón; the presidents of the Second and Fourth Chambers of the Supreme Court, Manuel Marchena and Rosa María Virolés; the president of the National High Court, José Ramón Navarro, the president of the Provincial Court of Madrid, Juan Pablo González; and the head judge of Madrid, María Jesús del Barco.
