Ejaso incorporates DS Avocats in Barcelona
Ejaso has completed the integration of the Barcelona office of DS Avocats España, absorbing 18 professionals and appointing four new partners as part of a strategic expansion in Catalonia. The move brings Ejaso’s Barcelona headcount to approximately 50 professionals.
The integration sees Verónica Ramírez Luesma, María José Duplá Marín, Erika Rubio Valera, and Pilar Martín Rodríguez join Ejaso as partners, each leading distinct practice areas from the Barcelona office. The four incoming partners bring expertise spanning corporate law, tax, international fiscal planning, and litigation and compliance.
Verónica Ramírez Luesma specialises in corporate law and M&A transactions, with experience advising start-ups on investment rounds and private equity funds on investment, divestment, and M&A processes, as well as regulated venture capital entities.
María José Duplá Marín brings over two decades of experience in tax advisory for companies and individuals, with a focus on tax proceedings and defence before the administration and courts; she has also held academic positions at Pompeu Fabra University and Esade.
Erika Rubio Valera has a background in international taxation, estate and succession planning, corporate restructurings, and tax inspections, having previously worked at Rousaud Costas Duran, KPMG Abogados, and as a founding partner of Laways Legal and Tax.
Pilar Martín Rodríguez heads the Litigation and Compliance department, with experience in civil and criminal proceedings and in the implementation of criminal compliance programmes.
Strengthening Barcelona presence
The integration complements Ejaso’s existing Barcelona practice, which already covers employment and competition law — led by partner Isabel Sobrepera Millet — family business advisory, directed by partner Sergio Parra Sabal, and retail criminal law, under partner Ariadna Revenga Salat. The firm also counts Juan Enrique Altimis Ibañes and Juan Manuel González-Haba Poggio as advisors (Consejeros) in the Barcelona office.
Ejaso highlights that “this integration represents a key step in our growth and specialisation strategy, strengthens our commitment to the international market and our national positioning, and constitutes a major asset in attracting talent.” They also underline that “the incorporation of four partners of this calibre consolidates our model based on talent and technical excellence.”
