ECIJA intervenes in the judicial authorisation for the sale of Fotoprix’s production unit
The Commercial Court of Vitoria-Gasteiz has authorised, by order of 24 March 2025, the sale of the production unit of Ikatz (Fotoprix) in favour of the company Creative Picture Partners (CPP), within the framework of the insolvency proceedings in which ECIJA has acted as Insolvency Administrator.
The transaction comprises the acquisition by CPP of 50 of the 75 shops that Ikatz operated directly under the Fotoprix brand, as well as the continuity of 36 additional shops operated under franchise. The transaction allows to maintain part of the activity and to keep a relevant percentage of the jobs linked to the company.
Ikatz was declared in insolvency proceedings, with the opening of the liquidation phase, by court decision of 22 April 2024. Since then, ECIJA, through its office in the Basque Country, has assumed the role of Insolvency Administrator, leading the management of the proceedings and the sale operation.
The project has been led by Luis Felipe Fernández de Trocóniz, partner at ECIJA, with the participation of lawyers Aintzane Rubio and Jorge Gorostegui.
