Ecija brings on new IP team led by partner Laura Alonso
Ecija has brought on board Laura Alonso and her 12-member team to enhance its industrial property (IP) capabilities. The new partner has advised leading international clients for years, including companies in the beverage, big tech, tobacco and football sectors. Laura Alonso joins from Hoyng Rokh Monegier, an European intellectual property law boutique, where she served as partner.
“With this addition, the law firm aims to strengthen its positioning in the field of industrial property, integrating a team of 12 specialised professionals and consolidating a key practice for companies in the management and defence of their intangible assets in increasingly complex and global markets”, states Ecija.
Throughout her career, Laura and her team have led strategies for the protection of trademark, design and domain name portfolios for major multinational groups, defending iconic brands before the European Union Intellectual Property Office and the General Court of the European Union. She is actively involved in international organisations such as the International Trademark Association (INTA) and the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI).
“The addition of Laura and her team decisively strengthens our industrial property practice at a time when the protection of intangible assets has become a key element of business strategy. Her international experience, proven track record in protecting these assets and global coordination capabilities bring clear added value to our clients”, states Alejandro Touriño, managing partner.
