ECIJA advises Santa Lucía in obtaining the first UNE 19604 certification for social and labor compliance in Spain

The insurance corporation Santa Lucia has become the first company in the country to obtain the UNE 19604:2023 certification at multi-sector level, and the first insurance company to achieve this recognition for its Human Resources management system. This project, carried out in two phases, has counted with the advice of ECIJA‘s labour law team.

The main objective of the consultancy process was the evaluation of Santa Lucia’s social and labor compliance management system, through a gap analysis to identify the necessary modifications in its management system and tax risk control, in accordance with the requirements of the standard. In the first phase, ECIJA conducted a review to assess St. Lucia’s compliance with UNE 19604 guidelines. In the second phase, ECIJA accompanied Santa Lucia throughout the certification process, ensuring compliance with the established standards and providing ongoing support to achieve this important milestone.

ECIJA has been part of the drafting committee of the UNE 19604:2023 standard, actively participating in the standardization of social and labor compliance practices. The project was led by Raúl Rojas, partner in charge of the Labor and Compliance area.
