Ecija advises Basket Zaragoza on NH Capital deal
Ecija has advised Basket Zaragoza 2002 and its reference shareholders on the incorporation of NH Capital into the club’s capital structure, in a deal that sees the investor acquire a 30% stake in the Aragonese basketball club. The transaction was structured through a combination of a share purchase agreement, a capital increase and the contribution of Zaragoza CFF.
As a result of the deal, Zaragoza CFF becomes part of the Basket Zaragoza Group, although both sporting projects will retain their own identity and independent sporting management.
The operation is expected to support the development of both entities and reinforce their commitment to women’s sport in the Aragón region. The deal was closed in the season in which Basket Zaragoza celebrates its 25th anniversary, marking the start of a new phase aimed at consolidating the club’s sporting, social, institutional and business growth, states Ecija.
Ecija’s advice on the transaction was led by Ricardo Chueca, partner at the firm’s Zaragoza office.
