Dunas Capital acquires Barcelona industrial site: advisors
Andersen and Barrilero have acted as lead legal adviser to Dunas Capital Real Estate (DCRE), the independent real estate asset management platform of Dunas Capital Group, on the acquisition of a factory in Castellbisnal, Barcelona, spanning more than 125,000 square metres, from Reno di Medici Group (RDM), an European manufacturer of recycled cartonboard and fibre-based packaging solutions. Osborne Clarke acted for the seller, RDM Group.
With this acquisition, DCRE is establishing a presence in Catalonia with a long-term outlook and the aim of reindustrialising a site with a long industrial history, attracting new investment and economic activity without developing new land. The construction project, scheduled to begin in 2027, will mark the first step in this new phase and incorporate sustainability and energy efficiency criteria.
DCRE is the real estate asset management arm of Dunas Capital Group, which manages financial, real estate and alternative assets valued at more than €5.3 billion. DCRE’s portfolio includes hotel assets, logistics platforms, residential developments, retail premises and data centres.
Dunas Capital plans to promote the site’s reindustrialisation, attracting new investment and economic activity to Castellbisbal and the surrounding area.
