Deloitte Legal Telles advises on Gustavo Varela transfer
Deloitte Legal Telles has advised footballer Gustavo Varela on his permanent transfer from Sport Lisboa e Benfica to A.C. Monza, an international operation that required coordination between different legal and regulatory frameworks in Portugal and Italy.
The law firm supported the player throughout the entire transfer process, providing legal advice on the negotiation and formalisation of the contractual instruments associated with the operation and safeguarding his interests in an increasingly international and demanding sporting context. The transaction was coordinated by José Gomes Mendes, counsel and head of Sports Law at Deloitte Legal Telles, who led the legal advice provided to the player and the coordination with Deloitte Legal Italy on the various legal matters inherent to the deal.
