DAC Beachcroft adds partner from Pérez-Llorca

DAC Beachcroft has added Mercedes Romero, who joins from Pérez-Llorca, as a partner to lead the Litigation & Arbitration area

Before joining DAC Beachcroft, Mercedes Romero (pictured) was a Litigation & Arbitration partner at Pérez-Llorca, where she joined in 2006 and made partner in 2017.

Mercedes has extensive experience advising clients in the Construction, Engineering and Energy sectors, as well as in the Financial, Corporate and Telecommunications fields. She has been involved in complex judicial and arbitration proceedings, both nationally and internationally, advising on all types of contractual disputes.

She has also advised on Insolvency proceedings and on the enforcement of foreign judgments and awards, as well as on other matters related to Private International law. In addition, she frequently practices as an arbitrator in institutional Arbitrations.

“Mercedes’ experience will not only strengthen our Madrid office, but will also help us consolidate our international conflict resolution practice,” said Gustavo Blanco, international development director at DAC Beachcroft.

Mercedes has a degree in Law from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and a postgraduate degree in International Commercial Arbitration from the University College London (Queen Mary University). She was awarded the Iberian Lawyer Forty under 40 in 2019 in the Arbitration category.
