Cuatrecasas advises Haralabos Voulgaris on acquisition of Club Deportivo Castellón
Cuatrecasas has advised the businessman Haralabos Voulgaris on the acquisition and takeover of Club Deportivo Castellón SAD. The transaction was signed on the eve of the Club’s centenary celebrations.
Given the importance of the window being open in the player transfer market, it was necessary to ensure that the new investor and majority owner could immediately take effective control of both the club and the management of the Fundación Albinegra de la Comunidad Valencia, the entity in charge of CD Castellón’s youth teams.
“The operation, despite being a First RFEF club, has presented, from a legal point of view, complications equivalent to those of a club in the First or Second Division, both because of the sophisticated structure of the club and because of certain particularities inherent to the transaction (in particular the dates on which it had to be carried out and closed: just during the transfer window),” said Roberto Álvarez. Through the procedure specially designed for this transaction, the client will be able to plan the 2022-2023 season and make the appropriate decisions immediately.
