Cuatrecasas advises banks on Grupo Ferrer´s €220m financing

Cuatrecasas has advised the financial institutions on the financing of a €220 million granted to Barcelona-headquartered pharmaceutical company Grupo Ferrer

Pharmaceutical company Grupo Ferrer has secured a new €220 million sustainable syndicated financing, an operation which links the financing margin to the company’s results in terms of sustainability.

The loan has been agreed with BBVA and CaixaBank as the coordinating entities, with the participation of Banco Sabadell, Cajamar, Banco Santander, Deutsche Bank, Liberbank, Targobank and Banca March. It is the first sustainable loan formalized by a company in the pharmaceutical field in Spain.

The financing obtained by the pharmaceutical company is structured in three tranches: Term Loan (long-term loan), Revolving Credit Facility (working capital line) and Capex Line (line of credit for acquisitions), with a term of six years.

Cuatrecasas advised financial institutions with a Barcelona office Banking & Finance team led by partners Héctor Bros (pictured left) and Manuel Follía (pictured right), together with associates Elvira Coloma, Yuanlong Lang and Arnau Pastor.
