Cristiano Ronaldo advised by MLGTS on €100m Juventus move

Lisbon law firm MLGTS advised Portuguese international footballer Cristiano Ronaldo on his transfer from Real Madrid to Italian club Juventus.

Juventus will pay a transfer fee of €100 million, which will be paid over a two-year period.

The total value of the deal is €112 million when payments under FIFA’s ‘solidarity mechanism’ – which relates to compensation paid when a player transfers from one national football association to another – as well as other additional charges are taken into account.

Ronaldo signed a four-year contract with Juventus, which runs until 30 June 2022.

Ronaldo is one of the most decorated footballer players of all time – the former Sporting Clube de Portugal and Manchester United forward has won the Ballon d’Or five times. He has won domestic league titles in England and Spain as well as winning the Champions League with Manchester United (once) and with Real Madrid (four times). In 2016, he was part of the Portugal team that won the European Championships. His goalscoring record at Real Madrid was phenomenal, scoring 450 goals in only 438 games.

Ronaldo was advised on the transfer to Juventus by MLGTS partner Carlos Osório de Castro and managing associate Paulo Rendeiro.
