Colliers hires Carmen Paz as project management director

Colliers has hired Carmen Paz as project management director, integrating her into the Colliers Arquitectura team to drive hotel technical services and specialised hospitality consultancy. The hire further strengthens the firm’s Hotels division, which has been expanding its technical capabilities in the Spanish and international markets.

Carmen Paz is an architect holding a degree from the ETSAM (Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid). Over a career spanning more than 20 years, she has overseen the management of more than 50 hotel projects across more than 10 countries, covering new openings, full refurbishments and repositioning projects in segments ranging from midscale to luxury, working with multidisciplinary teams.

She joins Colliers from Minor Hotels International, where she served as director of projects and construction for the northern Europe portfolio for the past seven years, overseeing the full project lifecycle from cost estimation and planning through to final asset delivery, maintaining continuous coordination between design, construction and hotel operations.

Scope of role

In her new position, Carmen Paz will be responsible for hotel technical services and hospitality consultancy, encompassing technical support for transactions, feasibility studies and cost estimations, architectural analysis and design, project management, and technical liaison between operators, owners and investors.

Carmen Paz noted that the role aligns with both the current growth phase of the hotel sector and her own professional background, with her objective being to contribute to Colliers’ expansion by bringing a technical perspective grounded in hospitality project expertise.

Mariano García Montenegro, managing director of Colliers Arquitectura, stated that the appointment allows the team to integrate capabilities for the technical development of hotels across their entire lifecycle, offering high-value services to clients.

Laura Hernando, managing director of Hotels and incoming CEO of Colliers Iberia, underlined the firm’s commitment to integrating specialised technical capabilities into hotel advisory, noting that a multidisciplinary team enables the firm to add greater value in asset transactions and operator negotiations. She highlighted that Carmen Paz’s experience reinforces Colliers’ offering in differentiated technical consultancy services.
