CMS reinforces Litigation and Arbitration area with new managing associate

CMS Rui Pena & Arnaut has lured Maria de Almeida Teixeira from Uría Menéndez – Proença de Carvalho

CMS Rui Pena & Arnaut has strengthened the Litigation and Arbitration team with the entry of Maria de Almeida Teixeira (pictured). With over ten years of experience in litigation and arbitration, Maria de Almeida Teixeira is thus part of the practice area coordinated by partners Nuno Pena and Miguel Esperança Pina. For the coordinating partners of CMS, “this integration reinforces the commitment to excellence and quality in the services provided by CMS, associated with an innovative and bold spirit”. CMS Arbitration and Litigation department in Portugal has currently has three partners and 21 lawyers.

Maria de Almeida Teixeira has 12 years of practice in the areas of Civil, Corporate, Financial and Banking Litigation, Arbitration, Insolvency, Recovery and Restructuring, Acquisitions of credit portfolios, companies and Real Estate assets, developed in law firms. She was a senior associate at Uría Menéndez – Proença de Carvalho the last five years. Before that, she spent six years at NGS Leão e Associados as an associate. She graduated a the Universidade Católica Portuguesa and has a post-graduate degree in Tax Law from the Instituto de Direito Económico, Financeiro e Fiscal of the Universidade de Lisboa.
