CMS Portugal launches data centers advisory team

With Portugal increasingly on the radar of investors in the Data Centers sector, CMS Portugal has created a multidisciplinary team to advise its clients on projects and investments.

This team, which is composed by lawyers from the media and communications technology, real estate & urban planning, energy & climate change and corporate M&A practice areas, is led by partners João Leitão Figueiredo (TMC) and Manuel Cassiano Neves (energy & climate change), and includes Ricardo Pintão (TMC associate), Sara de Almeida Barroso (urban planning partner), Inês Machado da Silva (urban planning associate), João Pinheiro da Silva (real estate partner), Francisca Caeiro Bastos (real estate associate), Bernardo Cunha Ferreira (energy & climate change partner), Rodrigo Pinto Guimarães (energy & climate change associate), Tiago Valente Oliveira (corporate M&A partner) and André Guimarães (corporate M&A senior associate).

“Portugal is increasingly on the radar of international data center investors, due to various factors that position our country as a place of excellence for their investments. Because we are already involved in several projects, and given our size as an international company, we have developed this multidisciplinary team to provide a concerted response”, says João Leitão Figueiredo.

Manuel Cassiano Neves, on the other hand, says that “when an investor is looking for a partner to set up in a particular market, they prioritise those who can provide them with an A to Z response. That’s what we’ve done at CMS Portugal by setting up this team: provide transversal answers to transversal needs”.
