CMS Portugal advises Nayak on LAS acquisition
CMS Portugal has advised Nayak Aircraft Services, backed by Chequers Capital, on the acquisition of LAS Group, a Portuguese group specializing in aircraft maintenance services at national airports.
Nayak Aircraft Services operates more than 60 of its own bases across Europe and provides line and base maintenance support for over 70 types of aircraft, drawing on more than 50 years of experience in the sector. LAS Group is a Portuguese business group focused on the aviation sector, made up of three companies: LAS Maintenance, LAS Training and SLOT Human Resources. Founded in May 1995, the group operates in aircraft line maintenance, aviation training and human resources consultancy.
The CMS Portugal team was led by corporate M&A partner Tiago Valente de Oliveira, with support from André Guimarães, managing associate, and Gonçalo Sampaio, associate. The Energy & Climate Change practice contributed partner Bernardo Cunha Ferreira, senior associate Duarte Lacerda and associate Maria Miguel Tomás, while the employment law team included Managing associate Sofia Costa Lobo and associate Leonor Barata da Cunha. The transaction also involved TMC/IP senior associate Ricardo Pintão and real estate associate Carlos Henriques Saraiva.
