CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo reinforces Public Law with Counsel Juan Moreno
CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo has incorporated Juan Moreno as Counsel to reinforce the practice of Public Law and Regulated Sectors. The Department, which currently has two partners, its director Ignacio Grangel and Alfonso Codes, thus adds 13 lawyers in the Madrid office and is consolidated as one of the main areas of the firm.
Moreno joins the firm from Linklaters in Madrid, where he has developed his entire professional career since 2013 as managing associate of the department. He has nine years of experience advising large national and international companies on complex matters with a high regulatory component. During his professional career, Juan has participated in all types of contentious-administrative proceedings before the Supreme Court and other administrative (including public procurement) and sanctioning instances.
In addition, Juan has also provided advice to numerous international investment and venture capital funds on their M&A operations in Spain in regulated sectors, in particular, the electricity sector, natural gas, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, infrastructure and other services.
Juan has a Law Degree with a Diploma in Business Studies from the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas-ICADE (E-1).
Ignacio Grangel, partner head of the Public Law and Regulated Sectors department, adds: “Our department is growing in line with the evolution of the Firm, developing itself to serve our clients in increasingly complex matters and with special attention to the energy and of telecommunications. The arrival of Juan is going to contribute to reinforcing a key practice.”
With more than 150 public law attorneys in 50 cities around the world, CMS has extraordinary reach and capacity in this area of practice.
