CMS advises Siemens on €580m sale to SSE Renewables

CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo has advised Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, S.A. on €580 million sale to SSE Renewables

pjimage 2022 04 21T093849.161CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo (CMS Spain) has advised Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, S.A. on the €580 milllion sale to SSE Renewables, of a 3.9GWs portfolio of onshore wind projects in Spain, France, Italy and Greece.

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy S.A., formerly Gamesa Corporación Tecnológica S.A. and Grupo Auxiliar Metalúrgico S.A., is a Spanish-German wind engineering company based in Zamudio, Biscay, Spain. It manufactures wind turbines and provides onshore and offshore wind services. It is the world’s second largest wind turbine manufacturer.

SSE Renewables is a renewable energy subsidiary of SSE plc, which develops and operates onshore and offshore wind farms and hydroelectric generation in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

The team from CMS Spain advising on the deal was led by mananging partner (pictured from left to right) César Albiñana, Corporate/M&A, Elena Aguilar, partner, Corporate/M&A and Ignacio Grangel, partner, Public Law & Regulated Sectors.
