CMS advises Plastic Omnium on the sale of a metal business unit

CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo has advised Plastic Omnium on the sale of a metal business unit to Grupo Segura. The operation has been led by Luis Miguel de Dios, Pedro Ferreras (partners) and Aleksandra Czajka (senior associate).

The firm has advised Plastic Omnium in a competitive process for the sale of a business unit dedicated to the integral supply of metal parts for the automotive industry. The sale was structured as an asset deal and involved negotiations with the main customers, suppliers and employees of the unit.

Plastic Omnium is a subsidiary of a french industrial group, whose parent company Compagnie Plastic Omnium is listed on the Paris Stock Exchange and is a key player in the automotive industry. It operates 131 plants and is present in 26 countries.

The buyer, Grupo Segura, is an industrial group dedicated to the design, development and manufacture of metal components for the automotive industry, mainly through stamping and welding processes.

This operation reinforces their positioning in the automotive sector, not only advising manufacturers and distributors of the main brands, but also manufacturers and suppliers of parts.
