CMS Portugal advises Causeway Securities on Portuguese launch

CMS Portugal has advised UK-based investment firm Causeway Securities in establishing a subsidiary in Portugal, following its authorisation by the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM) as an investment firm. This move strengthens Causeway Securities’ presence in the European market and allows it to provide regulated investment services within Portugal.

Causeway Securities is an international firm specializing in structured products and investment solutions, acting as an intermediary between investment banks and clients—including wealth managers, IFAs, and institutions—to provide tailored products aimed at generating income, fostering growth, and managing market risk.

The CMS Portugal team guided Causeway Securities through the full incorporation and authorisation process. The team was led by partner Francisco Xavier Almeida (partner, pictured), with support from senior associate Gonçalo Cabral de Moncada.
