Clifford Chance acts for Admiral and Mapfre on Rastreator-Acierto.com merger

Clifford Chance advised Admiral Group and Mapfre on the formation of a joint venture with Oakley Capital Investments that will result in the Admiral and Mapfre-owned digital insurance broker Rastreator merging with Acierto.com.

Acierto.com is a Spanish digital insurance broker that allows consumers to compare prices from more than 30 car, motorcycle, health, life and home insurance companies. It has annual revenues of €13 million.

Baker McKenzie advised the Brüggmann brothers, the founders and owners of Acierto.com, on the deal.

Rastreator enables users to buy insurance, financial products, travel, offers, telephone services, energy, finance and cars by comparing quotations. The business is currently 75 per cent owned by Admiral, a British insurance company specialising in the direct sale of car insurance, and 25 per cent by Mapfre, a Spanish insurance and reinsurance company.

In 2018, Rastreator generated revenues of €29 million.
