Cases Lacambra adds financial services partner
Cases Lacambra has hired Fernando Gutiérrez Rizaldos as a partner in its financial services practice, tasked with leading the firm’s regulatory and funds work in Spain.
The move, announced on 21 March, brings the number of partners in the financial services practice to four, forming a team that spans transactional and regulatory financial law.
The profile
Gutiérrez Rizaldos brings more than twenty years of experience in financial regulation and debt advisory. His practice covers the full spectrum of regulated entities — including credit institutions, investment services firms, insurers, fund managers, payment institutions, electronic money institutions and crypto-asset service providers — on matters such as structural modifications, authorisations, fund formation (UCITS, AIFM and securitisation vehicles) and cross-border expansion through European passporting.
Alongside his regulatory work, Gutiérrez Rizaldos has advised both lenders and borrowers on complex financing transactions, including real estate, project finance, corporate, asset-based and leveraged buyout deals, as well as refinancings and debt issuances involving international security structures.
He has also served as board secretary for numerous companies — including listed companies and supervised entities — and has held board positions at both public and private firms.
In addition to his legal practice, Gutiérrez Rizaldos has taught commercial law at Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE) and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, and has collaborated with various other academic institutions.
