Cases & Lacambra creates the Digital Law area and appoints Lidia Vidal as counsel

Cases & Lacambra has announced the appointment of Lidia Vidal as counsel, coming from Pinsent Masons. With her incorporation, the firm expands its portfolio of services to cover Digital Law, Privacy, Intellectual Property and Information Technology.

“Lidia’s arrival is a decisive step and a strategic reinforcement that allows us to continue growing, responding and accompanying our clients more effectively in the management and use of AI and data. At the same time, we complement other areas in which aspects linked to intellectual property often come together”, emphasises Ernesto Lacambra, partner and managing director of Cases & Lacambra.

Lidia Vidal

With more than 11 years of experience, Vidal is specialised in contract negotiation, the adaptation of digital platforms to data protection and e-commerce regulations, as well as trademark, copyright, advertising law, consumer and user rights, and image rights.

Vidal will focus her main work as counsel on advising companies on issues of data protection, cybersecurity, technology outsourcing and influencer marketing, providing a differential value in a business context marked by the irruption of artificial intelligence and the growing centrality of data.

Prior to joining Cases & Lacambra, she developed his career at Pinsent Masons and Uría Menéndez, regularly advising national and international clients in multi-jurisdictional matters, in sectors such as fashion and retail, health, financial services and technology. She has been involved in trademark infringement and invalidity proceedings, as well as in matters related to promotional sweepstakes on social media, among others.

New position

In her new position, Vidal will lead the promotion of this area working together with the rest of the firm’s practice groups linked to legal tech and digital transformation. She will also support M&A transactions in the technology sector and advise financial institutions on the challenges posed by technological evolution. In addition, in the field of data and artificial intelligence, she will accompany clients in the implementation of processes and the development of tools, with a special focus on the legal challenges posed by the management of personal data and the protection of intangible assets in highly digitalised environments.

Lidia Vidal holds a degree in Law from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra and a Master’s degree in Fashion Business Management and Administration from IMF Business School.
