Buigas partner joins Vall Banc to chair Risks & Compliance Commitee

Buigas partner and ex-PwC T&L Ingacio González Freixa has joined Andorra´s Vall Bank as a director to chair the Risks and Compliance Commitee

Vall Banc, the Andorran entity specialising in Wealth Management, has appointed José Ignacio González Freixa (pictured) as a new director of the entity´s Board. González Freixa will chair the Risks and Compliance Committee.

“With this incorporation, Vall Banc continues to promote its commitment to form a team of top-level experts and professionals, in this case giving a plus in the regulatory field of Compliance”, remarked Richard Carrión, chairman of the Board of Directors.

José Ignacio González Freixa is an expert in Regulatory Compliance, ethics-integrity, internal auditing, quality and risk control and has extensive experience advising companies on this area. He was a partner for more than 20 years at PwC Tax & Legal Services and currently at Buigas, where he heads the Good Governance and Compliance área. He has been a member of advisory committees of the Boards of Directors of companies such as Cottet, S.A., Indo Internacional, S.A., or Frigicoll S.A., among others.

During his professional career, he has focused his experience on Trade and Governance Law, M&A, Real Estate Law, in particular, foreign investments in Spain by private and institutional investors. Professionally, he has been and continues to be PMO for the implementation of the Compliance and Integrity programme achieved between Volkswagen AG, AUDI AG, among others and the US Department of Justice.

With proven experience in dealing with European and American regulators and supervisors, González Freixa has first-hand knowledge of International Regulatory Compliance and market conduct standards and has extensive experience in the creation and implementation of control plans and Compliance programmes.

Ignacio is a Law graduate from the Universidad Abat Oliba CEU.
