Bird & Bird on the sale of 50% of GlobalFeed

OCP Group, a global phosphate based products plant and animal nutrition producer, has acquired 50% of GlobalFeed, the animal nutrition subsidiary of the fertilizer producer Fertinagro Biotech.

GlobalFeed operates in the animal nutrition segment, manufactures and distributes a wide range of products, including phosphate based commodities and high value solutions dedicated to several species. The Company owns flexible production units with a capacity of 200,000 tons of phosphate based products and 30,000 tons of iron sulphate located in Huelva, Spain and benefits from a large global sales footprint.

Both companies frame this operation in the growing animal feed market due to the increase in livestock production in the world, which tries to cover the growing global needs for meat and protein products, especially in the southern emerging countries.
