Bird & Bird appoints new transfer pricing manager
Bird & Bird has appointed Paula Martín (pictured) as head of the firm’s transfer pricing practice.
With more than 15 years of experience in this area, the lawyer has spent most of her professional career as a manager in Deloitte’s transfer pricing department.
With this appointment, the firm seeks to optimise its service strategy in areas such as comprehensive advice on transfer pricing policies, defence in tax inspection procedures, valuation of intangible assets, assistance in amicable procedures and prior agreements with the administration (APA) and price paid allocation processes (PPA), within the framework of related-party transactions, all with a particular focus on international groups.
Martín has extensive experience in the management of global compliance and documentation projects, and has carried out multiple projects on the design and implementation of transfer pricing policies. She has also participated in inspections and projects with various tax administrations including Spain, Italy, France, Germany and the Netherlands, assisting multinational groups in various sectors, in particular consumer, pharmaceutical, financial and logistics.
“It is a very interesting challenge in my professional career to create a department with so much potential at a key moment when a redesign of the tax regulations affecting especially large companies is being carried out both nationally and internationally,” said Paula Martín.
