Bernardo Cremades, Medal of Honor from the Madrid Bar Association

The Madrid Bar Association (ICAM) has awarded with the Medal of Honor to the jurist Bernardo Cremades Sanz Pastor, partner and founder of B. Cremades y Asociados, recognizing his merits and relevant services rendered in favor of this Corporation and Advocacy in general.

The ceremony organized by the Madrid Bar Association (ICAM) at the Teatro Real, within the framework of the commemorative events of its 425th Anniversary, was presided over by the dean of the College, José María Alonso, and included the intervention of the members of the ICAM Governing Board and other political and judicial authorities of the capital.

Bernardo M. Cremades is a founding partner of the firm B. Cremades y Asociados, which has recently been recognized best arbitration firm by the  Iberian Legal Awards 2022. He is also a Professor at the Faculty of Law and a Numerary Academician of the Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation of Spain.

Bernardo M. Cremades’ activity focuses mainly on international commercial arbitration and investment protection. He has acted as counsel for the party, co-arbitrator and president of the arbitral tribunal in more than 370 arbitrations. His professional experience in arbitration encompasses proceedings before the world’s leading international arbitration bodies. Bernardo M. Cremades actively participates in DABs (Dispute Adjudication Boards) in the construction sector, as an alternative means of conflict resolution.

The international recognition of Bernardo M. Cremades is very wide. He has been decorated by the President of the Federal Republic of Germany with the Verdienskreutz. He has also been appointed Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite by the President of the French Republic. In Spain, he was decorated with the Order of Isabel la Católica, the Order of Civil Merit and the Grand Cross of the Order of San Raimundo de Peñafort for his great contribution to the development of arbitration.
