Baker McKenzie incorporates Júlia Samsó as Competition counsel

Baker McKenzie has hired Júlia Samsó, former partner at Pareja & Associats, as counsel in the Competition department in Barcelona.

Mireia Sabaté, Co-Managing Partner of Baker McKenzie in Spain, has confirmed that Júlia “will bring experience and fluency in the management of multidisciplinary projects that are increasingly complex due to the growing regulation in the transactional area. She has proven to be a brilliant person with a clear international vocation and vision”.

Júlia Samsó

Júlia has developed her professional career in international environments for more than 10 years, starting as a senior associate in the Competition area of Latham&Watkins, where she worked in the Paris, London and Brussels offices advising international clients, including in regulated sectors. She then joined Orange as a senior international lawyer in the Competition, Regulatory and Merger Control area at the company’s global headquarters in Paris.

In that position she consolidated much of her legal and business experience in a competitive and regulated sector. She was the main head of merger control for all Orange subsidiaries and business units in Europe and Africa and, more generally, advised on all types of competition and regulatory matters in a multitude of jurisdictions. For the last three years she has been a partner at Pareja & Associats in the area of Competition, Regulatory and EU Law.

The lawyer has stated that her incorporation to Baker McKenzie is an opportunity to “continue growing in a first class international environment and with a strong local presence in Spain. It is a combination that will allow me to continue advising multinationals that operate at a national level and Spanish companies that want to continue operating beyond our borders”.
