Baker McKenzie advises GHI Global Advisory Partners on its launch as EAF

Baker McKenzie has advised GHI Global Advisory Partners on its authorisation and registration as a financial advising company in Spain

GHI Global Advisory Partners has entered the Spanish market as a new EAF after being authorised and registered by the CNMV on January 29. This new company, founded by Roger Ibbotson (renowned professor in the Practice Emeritus of Finance at the Yale School of Management and chairman of Zebra Capital Management), John Holmgren and Lorenzo Goldberg, will recommend investment strategies with a behavioural finance component to advised institutional investors.

The investment advisory service EAF (Financial Advising Companies) consists of the provision of personalised recommendations to a client, either at the request of the client or at the initiative of the company, with respect to one or more operations relating to financial instruments. Individuals or legal entities registered in the EAF registry also provide the investment advisory service, which is the only investment service they are authorized to provide.

GHI Global Advisory Partners EAF has a European focus and is based in Madrid. In addition to the founders, Ana Blecua has joined the EAF team as head of investor relations.

The new EAF will focus on providing investment advice over a broad array of securities and primarily unit-shares UCITS, following behavioural finance criteria.

The Baker McKenzie´s team advising on the authorisation and registration procedure has been led by Madrid office Financial Services & Regulatory team leader Jaime Denis (pictured left), assisted by associates Javier Portillo (pictured centre) and Juan Vidri (pictured right).
