Auren names Francisco Mondragón audit partner in Spain

Auren has named Francisco Mondragón as partner responsible for its audit division in Spain, marking a generational transition at the firm. Mondragón holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Valencia and is a member of the Instituto de Censores Jurados de Cuentas and the Registro Oficial de Auditores de Cuentas (ROAC). He also sits on the Audit Tribunal of the Centro de Estudios Financieros and serves on several boards of directors.

He began his career at EY, working in both Spain and the firm’s London office, before joining Auren in 2011 as Audit Director in the Valencia office. He was promoted to partner in 2013, leading national and international projects across the industrial, public, and financial sectors. He succeeds Rafael Nava, who led the Audit division for several years.

Division performance and strategic context

Auren’s Audit division has grown 70% over the past decade and currently employs more than 250 professionals. In the 2024/2025 financial year, the firm posted total revenues of €104 million in Spain, with the Audit division accounting for 23% of that figure.

Mario Alonso, president of Auren, stated that the appointment “reflects the firm’s commitment to internal talent and to professionals who have contributed decisively to the growth of the project. Francisco represents Auren’s values and his vision aligns fully with the strategy of consolidation and development of the audit division at national level. This transition also represents a generational change that guarantees the firm’s solidity and growth.” Alonso also acknowledged Rafael Nava‘s “commitment, leadership, and key contribution to the growth and consolidation of the Audit division, as well as his constant involvement in the development of Auren’s shared project.”
