Augusta Abogados has incorporated Miquel Àngel Alonso as a partner for the development of the Public and Regulatory Law area

Miquel Àngel Alonso (pictured) has more than 25 years of professional experience in the areas of Administrative Law, Regulated sectors, Commercial and Bankruptcy. He graduated in Law from the Universitat Pompeu-Fabra and holds a Master´s degree in Commercial Law from the UPF Barcelona School of Management.

“I am very excited to take on this project because Augusta Abogados gives me the opportunity to expand the services I have been providing to my traditional clientele. The synergies between my experience and professional practice and the activities of the firm’s clients, which already has a strong presence in highly regulated sectors, are also evident, “ said Miquel Àngel.

Miquel Àngel Alonso is an expert in Public sector business and Public sector contracting, regularly participating in transactions for the construction and financing of infrastructure and public services, an area in which he advises both public entities and financial institutions and contractors or concessionaires. His experience in Regulatory Law covers sectors such as transport, telecommunications, energy and water, among others. In addition to his practice in the field of Public Law, Miquel Àngel also regularly acts as secretary of Boards of Directors of both private companies and public business sector entities.

Jaime Fernández, Augusta Abogados partner, commented: “The signing of Miquel Àngel Alonso takes place in a context of increasing regulatory complexity of economic activity and is part of our overall strategy, aimed at strengthening our Legal services for business clients through the incorporation of expert lawyers in their respective areas of practice.” The recent incorporations of Rodolfo Fernández-Cuellas for the Corporate Commercial Law and Innovation area and of Borja de Abadal for the Tax department are in line with the same strategy. Augusta Abogados has been highlighted by the main directories of lawyers and law firms in a number of practice areas.

Also, the opening of an office in Brussels at the end of 2020 is guided by the will to increase the presence before the EU institutions. “The opening of the new office in Brussels is a natural consequence of our well-known strategy of having a strong international presence. Precisely at times like the present, we consider it essential to strengthen our European presence, because we are convinced that in the next future many answers and solutions to the challenges of our clients will be obtained in the Community headquarters,” said Sergi Giménez, partner of the firm that has led this opening.
