Aranzadi LA LEY Foundation appoints Arteagabeitia to its Board

The Board of Trustees of the Aranzadi LA LEY Foundation has welcomed Idoya Arteagabeitia González, State Attorney and Director of Corporate Regulation for Telefónica, as its newest member.

Cristina Sancho Ferrán, President of the Foundation, emphasized the significance of this appointment:

This strengthens our mission to bring law and justice closer to society and amplify our impact for the benefit of all citizens.”

A Distinguished Career

Arteagabeitia’s career spans influential roles, including positions as State Attorney in the National Court, Ministry of Justice, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as at the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID). She also served as Head of Legal Counsel and Secretary of the Board for the Official Credit Institute (ICO) and its subsidiaries.

Before joining Telefónica, Arteagabeitia was a Partner at Pinsent Masons, leading the Financial, FinTech, and Banking Regulation practice in Madrid. She also held non-executive director roles at Sareb, COFIDES, and Mercedes Benz Financial Services, EFC.

A graduate of the University of Salamanca, with postgraduate studies in European Law, Arteagabeitia joined the State Attorney Corps in 2002.

Strengthening Governance

Her appointment reinforces the Aranzadi LA LEY Foundation’s Board of Trustees, which includes renowned legal and business leaders such as Jesús Remón Peñalver, Cristina Retana Gil, and Miguel Rodríguez-Piñero.

The Foundation continues its mission of fostering connections between the legal profession, public administration, and the business sector, with a commitment to enhancing access to justice and promoting the role of law in society.
