Antas da Cunha strenghtens tax area with three new names
Antas da Cunha Ecija has announced the reinforcement of its tax department with the integration of three new lawyers: Priscila Santos, who joins the firm as of counsel, transitioning from PLMJ; Inês Moreira dos Santos, formerly an in-house lawyer in the tax advisory department of Banco Comercial Português (BCP), who joins as a senior associate; and Gonçalo Brites da Silva, previously a manager at Ernst & Young, who also joins as a senior associate.
According to Joana Cunha d’Almeida, partner, the new lawyers have outstanding professional careers and diverse areas of expertise. “Over the years, our firm’s tax department has experienced significant growth, and we are confident that this trend will continue. We are now even better equipped to assist our clients in all areas of domestic and international taxation”, she states.
About Priscila Santos
With nearly 20 years of experience, Priscila Santos specializes in tax litigation, advising major companies in the aviation, insurance, energy, real estate, construction, and tourism sectors. She is an arbitrator at CAAD (Arbitration Court), a member of the Portuguese Fiscal Association (AFP), and the International Fiscal Association (IFA). She holds a law degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and a postgraduate degree in Tax Law from the Faculty of Law of the Portuguese Catholic University. Before joining Antas da Cunha Ecija, she worked at Maltez, Amaro & Neto and joined PLMJ in 2012, where she remained until 2024, first as an associate and later as a coordinating associate.
Inês Moreira dos Santos
With around 20 years of experience in tax law, Inês Moreira dos Santos focuses on national and international tax planning, restructuring operations, and tax advisory for financial transactions. She began her career at Garrigues Portugal and, in 2010, joined Vieira de Almeida, where she remained until 2022. She then took on the role of in-house lawyer in Banco Comercial Português (BCP). Inês holds a law degree from the Faculty of Law of the Portuguese Catholic University and has completed several postgraduate studies in her area of practice.
Gonçalo Brites da Silva
Gonçalo Brites da Silva began his career as a tax consultant at Deloitte Portugal. In January 2023, he took on the role of assistant to the Secretary of State for Fiscal Affairs in the XXIII Government of the Portuguese Republic. He later joined Ernst & Young, providing tax consulting services to individuals, as well as national and multinational companies. Gonçalo holds a law degree from the Faculty of Law of NOVA University Lisbon and pursued a master’s in Law and Management at the same institution, in collaboration with NOVA School of Business and Economics. He is also a researcher at the NOVA Tax Research Lab.
