Andersen incoAndersen has incorporated Javier Lacleta and Javier Martín-Merino as partners in the Real Estate and Urban Planning areas, reinforcing the department, which now has seven partners, four of them specialised in the transactional part and three experts in urban planning, management and discipline.

Javier Lacleta (pictured center right) holds a degree in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid and a Master’s degree in European Community Law from the Institute of European Studies of the Université Libre de Bruxelles. He has more than 25 years of professional experience as a lawyer, both in the public administration and in the private sector, especially in the real estate area. Specifically, he has worked as Head of the legal department of the office of the Housing Plan of the Community of Madrid, as Legal Director at Libra and as Director of the legal department at Martinsa-Fadesa. He has also worked for the last 12 years in law firms such as MAIO Legal, as a partner in the real estate and insolvency department, and in Martínez- Echevarría & Rivera, as a partner in the real estate and insolvency department.

Javier Martín-Merino (pictured center left) holds a degree in Law from the San Pablo – CEU Madrid University, a Master’s degree in Private Law from the San Pablo – CEU Institute of Higher Studies and is a doctoral candidate in Administrative Law – Urban Planning branch – at the San Pablo – CEU University. He has more than 20 years’ experience in the practice of law, mainly at Verdegay Abogados, where he has worked since 2001 and has been a partner and head of the Urban Development Law Department. As part of his professional development, he has been involved in land planning and management as well as in contentious and expropriation proceedings and has worked for public administrations and, for the most part, for private clients.

José Vicente Morote and Íñigo Rodríguez-Sastre, co-managing partners of Andersen in Iberia, pointed out: “The great experience of Lacleta and Martín-Merino, who bring great value to an area with a lot of weight within the Firm and in which we continue to see many opportunities for the coming years”.

“The two new partners join the Real Estate industry group in which professionals from the transactional, urban planning and tax areas collaborate with a high level of specialisation and cohesion for a comprehensive service to our public and private clients”, they said. For the co-managing partners of Andersen, these additions are in line with the firm’s commitment to strengthen specialisation with solid teams with broad capabilities in different sectors and respond to the firm’s strategy to continue on the path of growth, which has materialised in the first quarter of the year with the incorporation of four new partners and the integration of two offices in Barcelona and Valencia.
