AMMC expands its team with two incorporations

AMMC Legal has announced the expansion of its team with the addition of António Gil Leitão and Ana Carla Pereira Lázaro (both pictured), reinforcing its expertise in administrative law, urban planning, and urban rehabilitation.

António Gil Leitão joins the firm as a consultant. He transits from the public sector, where he served as an advisor to the mayor of Lagos. Previously, he held key roles such as president of the Board of Directors of IHRU – Institute for Housing and Urban Rehabilitation; chief of staff to the Minister of Housing in the XXIII Constitutional Government; chief of staff to the Secretary of State for Housing in the XXIII Constitutional Government; specialist technician at the Office of the Secretary of State for Housing in the XXI Constitutional Government; executive director of the municipal company Futurlagos.

Leitão holds a law degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra (with a focus on legal-economic studies) and a postgraduate degree in Land Use Planning, Urban Planning, and Environmental Law from CEDOUA – Center for Studies in Planning, Urbanism, and Environmental Law.

Ana Carla Pereira Lázaro joins AMMC Legal as an associate lawyer. Over the past 20 years, she has worked in private legal practice. Since 2019, she has been providing legal advisory services to the Legal Support and Litigation Division of the Legal Department of the Almada City Council, where she was responsible for drafting legal opinions, preparing contract drafts, agreements, and deliberation proposals, as well as overseeing the activities of municipal bodies.

Lázaro holds a law degree and a postgraduate degree in Labor Law from the Faculty of Law of Universidade Lusíada de Lisboa. Additionally, she has completed various training courses related to Administrative Procedure Code, Public Procurement, Local Authorities, Decentralization of Competencies, and Local Business Activity.

“These new additions are part of the firm’s growth trajectory in recent years. Given António and Ana’s profiles and their diverse professional experience, we believe their contributions will be a great asset to our firm”, state Isabel Abalada Matos and Isabel Moraes Cardoso, founding partners of AMMC Legal. “As we mark the 10th anniversary of AMMC Legal, our growth and consolidation rely on attracting top talent and creating the right conditions for their development. With this in mind, we will continue to expand our team in a sustainable way, united by the ambition and values that have guided us from day one”, the founding partners conclude.
