Álvaro Rodríguez Peñil and Javier Alonso de Armiño, new Sagardoy partners

Sagardoy Abogados has appointed Álvaro Rodríguez Peñil and Javier Alonso de Armiño as new professional partners of the firm.

Álvaro Rodríguez Peñil

Álvaro Rodríguez Peñil began his professional career in the labour relations department of a leading multinational company in the energy sector, and joined Sagardoy Abogados in 2008, becoming an associate in 2016. He has extensive experience as a labour lawyer and practices both substantive and procedural labour law.

Rodríguez has been a member of the Madrid Bar Association since 2007. He began his studies at the Faculty of Law of the University of Salamanca, where he graduated in Law. In order to obtain further specialisation, he took the Master’s Degree in Labour Law at the Sagardoy Foundation, where he obtained the prize as number one of his class. Álvaro is the author of several informative publications on labour and occupational safety. He is a member of the National Association of Labour Lawyers (ASNALA).

Javier Alonso de Armiño

Javier Alonso de Armiño joined Sagardoy Abogados as an associate lawyer in September 2019. He worked for 14 years at a well-known national firm, and for a further three years at an international law firm, always specialising in the labour law area. Javier Alonso specialises in advising foreign multinationals with a presence in Spain and Spanish companies with interests abroad.

As a practising lawyer, he is a member of the Madrid Bar Association. He holds a degree in Law and in Business Administration and Management (E-3) from the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICADE). He collaborates as an associate professor at various institutions such as Instituto de Empresa, ESADE, Universidad Sergio Arboleda and ICADE-IKN. He is also an advisor to the Spanish Expatriation Forum. He is currently a member of the European Employment Lawyers Association (EELA), the International Pension and Employee Benefits Lawyers Association-IPEBLA and the International Bar Association.
