Allen & Overy recruits Hogan Lovells employment partner

Hogan Lovells’ Madrid-based employment partner Silvia Bauzá will leave the firm to join Allen & Overy next month.

Bauzá (pictured) has been a partner at Hogan Lovells for four years, prior to that she had been a partner at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo for seven years.

Her expertise includes the negotiation of redundancy procedures, collective agreements, changes to employment conditions, judicial processes, and employment risk prevention.

Bauzá’s work has included advising Paradores de Turismo de España on the first mass redundancy process carried out by a Spanish public company – with more than 4,000 employees affected. She has also advised Capgemini on a collective dismissal, as well as advising Japan Tobacco International on several restructuring processes and collective negotiations.

Antonio Vázquez-Guillén co-managing partner of Allen & Overy, said: “We want to give a significant boost to the labour practice, which complements the litigation and commercial areas. Given her great experience and her high profile in the market, Silvia Bauzá has the perfect profile to lead this project for the benefit of our clients.”

The recruitment of Bauzá means Allen & Overy has 15 partners and 160 professionals in Spain.
