Addleshaw Goddard advises on first close of White Summit decarbonization and energy security infrastructure fund

Addleshaw Goddard has advised White Summit on the launch and first closing of its White Summit decarbonisation infrastructure fund II (WDIF-II). The new investment vehicle, which has an ultimate target of €500 million, counts among its investors a number of institutional clients, including the European Investment Fund, international institutional investors and several family offices.

The strategy of this new fund focuses on investing in European companies in the energy transition and security sector. As Isabel Rodríguez explains, “investing in the energy transition is crucial for Europe’s energy independence as well as for meeting its climate objectives. Specialized funds in this area, such as White Summit Decarbonisation Infrastructure Fund II, play an essential role, channeling resources into platforms and assets that will reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and improve energy efficiency.”

Specifically, the new vehicle plans to invest in companies with strong management teams within three main sectors in which White Summit Capital has an extensive track record: renewable energy integration, sustainable transportation and decarbonization of industries.

The firm´s team in charge of leading the project has been coordinated by partner and head of the investment funds team in Spain, Isabel Rodríguez, with the collaboration of, among others, counsel María de Orueta and associate Gonzalo Lozano.
