Across Legal adds Juan Cárdenas as partner
Across Legal has incorporated Juan Cárdenas Campos as a new partner in its corporate and M&A practice in Madrid. Cárdenas brings a career focused on commercial advice to startups, technology companies and investors, an area in which the firm has been concentrating its activity.
A law graduate from ICADE (E-1), Cárdenas has built his career advising technology-based companies and entrepreneurial projects at different stages of development. He has worked both at law firms and independently, and later served as general counsel.
In 2024, he launched his own project specializing in legal advice to startups, entrepreneurs and investors. Through this initiative he has supported numerous companies on matters including the incorporation and setup of companies, financing rounds, shareholder agreements, corporate governance, employee incentive plans such as ESOPs and phantom shares, commercial contracting, and investment and M&A transactions. Beyond his professional activity, Cárdenas regularly takes part in initiatives linked to the entrepreneurial ecosystem organized by universities, accelerators and institutions.
Ignacio Lacasa, managing partner of Across Legal, said that Cárdenas’s experience advising startups and investors, combined with his knowledge of the business from an in-house perspective, “fits very well with our Corporate and M&A practice and with the type of advice we want to offer to growth companies.”
For his part, Cárdenas said that one of his main objectives in this new stage will be “to continue working to close the gap that currently exists between the entrepreneurial world and law firms,” bringing legal practice closer to the real needs of founders, investors and growth companies.
