Abreu Advogados partners with CLT in Guimarães
Abreu Advogados has entered into a regional partnership agreement with CLT, a Guimarães-based law firm with over two decades of experience, as part of its ongoing strategy to build a national network and strengthen proximity to business and private clients across Portugal.
The agreement links CLT to Abreu Advogados’ existing offices in Lisbon, Porto and Madeira, as well as to the firm’s international presence in Portuguese-speaking countries including Angola, Brazil, Cabo Verde, China – Macau, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique and Timor-Leste. Under the arrangement, clients of both firms will be able to access specialised services from either party and receive consolidated support on their matters, while benefiting from local representation at adjusted costs. The two firms remain distinct entities, with the partnership designed to assess increasing and progressive integration over time.
CLT has built its practice around preventive legal advice and personalised responses across several areas of law, operating with a strategic and tailored approach since its founding in Guimarães.
Strategic context
Inês Sequeira Mendes, managing partner of Abreu Advogados, explains: “The partnership between Abreu Advogados and CLT is an important step in the path Abreu Advogados has been following to strengthen national coverage for its clients. This partnership enables clients in the Northern region to benefit from specialized services at national and international level, preparing them for the challenges of the future and responding to their concerns through a global and multidisciplinary team.”
For André Coelho Lima, managing partner of CLT: “This partnership represents a strong commitment to CLT’s growth, opening up possibilities and horizons for a corporate project that has until now had a regional base, thereby facilitating its national and international expansion. It also represents an opportunity to provide a broader and more specialized range of services to our clients. This partnership is established between two entities and two projects that remain distinct, but whose purpose is to assess increasing and progressive integration.”
The move follows a pattern of regional and international partnerships that Abreu Advogados has pursued in recent years to develop synergies and extend its professional network. The firm counts more than 250 lawyers and over 350 professionals in total across its offices.
