Uría Menéndez advise Standard on Gasexpress
Uría Menéndez has advised Dutch fund Standard Investment on its entry into the shareholding structure of Gasexpress, a Spanish operator of automated petrol stations. The transaction forms part of a €40 million investment plan over the next three years, aimed at opening new stations and acquiring and converting existing sites.
The deal covers Gasexpress’s network of company-owned petrol stations, Liquids Express, the group’s fuel transport business, and the management and development structure supporting its owned and franchised network. Gasexpress is part of JJ Matriz Capital, a multi-sector business group.
For Standard Investment, this is its second investment in Spain in three months, following the acquisition of a stake in Valencia-based Plásticos Ferrando . The fund was founded in the Netherlands in 2004 and invests in profitable lower mid-market European companies going through a transition, such as generational or shareholder succession, carve-outs or accelerated growth. It has offices in Amsterdam, Brussels, Copenhagen, Stockholm and Madrid, and is currently investing from its fifth fund, which has €150m.
