Andersen hires Augusto Martín as partner
Andersen has incorporated Augusto Martín Carrascal as partner in the technology and intellectual property practice area. With more than 20 years of experience, Martín has developed a specialization in intellectual and industrial property, trade secrets, technology transfer, data protection and artificial intelligence governance—fields that have become increasingly determinant for corporate competitiveness and growth. He joins from RCD.
A specialist across sectors
Martín has advised national and international companies in sectors such as entertainment (video games, music and audiovisual), technology, industrial, energy and agri-food, among others. His arrival allows Andersen to deepen its hyper-specialization strategy and consolidate advisory services in matters that today form part of the strategic core of numerous corporate transactions and business transformation projects.
The managing partner of Andersen Iberia, José Vicente Morote, said that “the incorporation responds to the firm’s objective of strengthening itself with highly specialized profiles in areas that have become strategic for companies”. He added that “the protection of intangible assets, knowledge management, technology and artificial intelligence are now key factors in value creation and organizational competitiveness, and that having reference specialists in these matters allows the firm to offer clients increasingly sophisticated advice”.
Martín holds a law degree from Universidad Pablo de Olavide. His academic background includes a master’s degree in Intellectual and Industrial Property from Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE) and a master’s in New Technologies Law from Universidad Pablo de Olavide, along with other postgraduate courses. He teaches subjects related to his practice at Universidad Pablo de Olavide, CEU and Instituto de Estudios Cajasol, among other business schools, and is a regular speaker at conferences and specialized forums.

Commenting on the appointment, Ivo Portabales and Federico Belausteguigoitia, partners and co-heads of the M&A department, said that intellectual and industrial property and digital law are present today in practically all corporate transactions the firm advises on. They added that Martín’s incorporation allows the firm to cover that dimension with a specialist who complements its value proposition and strengthens its capacity to advise on increasingly complex transactions.
