HSF Kramer hires Ana Julia García as of counsel
Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer has brought in Ana Julia García Jiménez as of counsel in its real estate practice at the Madrid office, joining from Freshfields.
She brings nearly two decades of experience advising domestic and international clients on complex real estate corporate transactions. At Freshfields, she served as counsel within the Global Transactions – Real Estate team, taking charge of the practice during her final year. Her practice covers the acquisition and disposal of asset portfolios — including hotels, office buildings, shopping centres and logistics warehouses — as well as NPLs, singular assets, joint ventures, real estate financing, commercial leases, sale & leaseback transactions and construction contracts.
Her client base includes real estate companies, financial investors, SOCIMIs, investment banks and financial institutions. Ana Julia García Jiménez completed her training with international secondments at Freshfields’ offices in London and Frankfurt. She holds a degree in Law and Business Administration (specialisation E-3) from the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICADE) and is a member of the Women in Legal World association.
Eduardo Soler Tappa, managing partner of HSF Kramer’s Madrid office, said: “The arrival of Ana Julia is a further step in the growth and consolidation of our presence in Madrid, particularly following the merger with Kramer. Her deep knowledge of the Spanish real estate market, her experience in complex transactions and her network of relationships with institutional investors will add immediate value to our real estate practice.”
Tomás Díaz Mielenhausen, partner and head of the real estate practice in Madrid, added: “Ana Julia is one of the reference lawyers in the Spanish real estate sector. Her cross-disciplinary experience — from M&A and joint ventures to financing and construction contracts — makes her an enormously valuable addition to our practice.”
